Engenuity have an extensive portfolio of developing a range of automotive structures including Body-In-White (BIW) engineering development, full composite chassis and complete crash structures. We have also completed a number of individual automotive projects from full composite floor assemblies with crash validation, to individual battery box, C-pillar reinforcement assemblies and composite/hybrid/metal wheels.



In a world of fine margins where speed and safety are paramount, Engenuity’s in-depth knowledge of materials and structures have been put to good use. We have developed, tested, and verified motorsport crash structures or nose cones for a range of disciplines, including Le Mans, Formula 1, and GTE. We have also engineered the safety cells/monocoques on various racing vehicles as well as developed lightweight racing wheels.



Engenuity’s motorcycle expertise encompasses all stages of product development. We work with leading OEMs and Tier 1s, supplying services such as material screening and characterisation and the data acquisition of systems and components in real world scenarios. We offer detailed analysis simulations of abuse loads, fatigue cycles, and manufacturing simulations. Our experience covers frames, yokes, wheels, swing arms, fuel tanks, and other safety critical components.



Engenuity’s analysis skills have been put to use on a large number of vehicles for construction and materials transportation. We are experienced in the simulation and development of both Rollover Protection Systems (ROPS) and Falling Object Protection Systems (FOPS). We can expertly asses fatigue performance for assemblies and welded structures and carry out modal and frequency response analyses to remove the risk of unexpected vibration issues.



Our experience in aerospace structures include the design engineering of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), cabin structures, and structural airborne systems. We support certification, conduct design optimisation and provide confidence that a design will pass mandatory tests. Our versatile data acquisition rig allows us to capture performance data in a range of environments, from lab tests to hostile real-world situations.



Engenuity’s dedicated in-house material test laboratory and our knowledge of materials allows us to fully characterise the performance of any 3D-printed material. Stiffness, strength, fatigue and dynamic behaviour across a range of environmental conditions can all be captured. Benefits to the additive manufacturing industry include geometry optimisation, mechanical performance improvement and cost reductions.
